I'm a 23 year teaching veteran... former 3rd grade teacher, turned Instructional Coach. I'm originally from Ky, but now living in Tn. I've taught a K-1 split, 2-3 split, straight first grade, 3rd grade, and now working with kiddos in grades K-5!
Although deep down I still feel like a third grade teacher at heart, I love my newest role as coach. I'm blessed to work with an amazing staff, incredible students, and terrific school system. My role as coach is definitely a tough one to balance as I'm responsible for curriculum needs, informal evaluations, individual coaching, grade level coaching, new teachers, professional development, testing, etc. for a school of 700 students.
Despite 23 years experience, I'm never too "old" to learn! I'm always looking for ways to improve, help others, and get the best out of myself and my "crew."
I have a blended family with six children...a modern day Brady Bunch if you will, minus an Alice. :-( I also have an adorable little pug named Buster. He RUNS our household. My hobbies include creating things for students and teachers. I love warm weather, songwriting, and being outdoors.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you can find something useful for your classroom here!
